The Local History Room was created to collect, maintain, and preserve materials on local history for the benefit of historians and library patrons. In our collection, we have old books, yearbooks, maps, photos, postcards, and other materials from the Red Bank area dating back well into the 19th century.
The materials we preserve focus on the following:
- Red Bank Public Library
- History of the Eisner Family
- Borough of Red Bank
- Towns within close proximity of Red Bank
- Monmouth County
- New Jersey

Aside from the items available in the History Room, we have a number of online resources as well. We have our self-guided Historic Walking Tour of Red Bank, links to archives of local newspapers, and the history of the family of Sigmund Eisner, in whose historic home the Red Bank Library currently resides, all available at our online resources page.
