In June, the Friends of the Red Bank Public Library held their Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. At the luncheon, Ms. Joan Boucher was named Volunteer of the Year!
Joan Boucher: Winner of the Friends 2016 "Volunteer of the Year" Award!
You may recognize Joan, as she actually worked for the Red Bank Public Library in the 1980's and 90's as Circulation Director, and she just can't stay away! Now retired and 88 years young, Joan volunteers weekly, spending time in both the Adult and Children's Rooms.
"I don't know what I would do without Joan," says Sira Williams, Children's Librarian. "Each week, she helps to prepare my Story Time crafts. I can always count on her to be here, and she does such a careful job." Linda Hewitt, Circulation Supervisor, agrees that Joan is irreplaceable. Linda presented Joan with a certificate and a lovely bracelet at the luncheon as a token of appreciation from the Friends.
The Friends of the Red Bank Public Library was established in 2009 by a small, dedicated group of library lovers. Members share a belief in the important role our library plays in the life of the entire community.
If you are interested in joining our group, fill out the form on the back of our Membership Brochure and give it to a library staff member at the Circulation Desk. Memberships start at $15 per year.
