Sustainable Red Bank

We will be holding our next virtual “Sustainable Red Bank” discussion via Zoom on Tuesday, September 15th! The topic is:

“Back to Cool: Planting a Fall Vegetable Garden” with Debbie LaGattuta, Rutgers Master Gardener.

“Back to Cool: Planting a Fall Vegetable Garden” describes cool weather crops that are perfect for planting now.  You'll learn what grows best from seed or by transplant and how to make your vegetable garden productive through the fall growing season and into next year.  Attendees will become familiar with plant families, the importance of crop rotation to maintain healthy soil, and lessons learned from first-hand experience.  This presentation is intended for home gardeners and for those planting crops in community gardens.

Debbie LaGattuta has been an avid home gardener for over 30 years. After retiring from a 36-year career in the computer software industry, she studied fundamentals of horticulture at Brookdale Community College and then received her Monmouth County Master Gardener certification in 2015.
