Get Library materials delivered to your doorstep!
Red Bank Public Library offers an outreach program to homebound Red Bank residents.
Materials such as books, magazines, CDs, and DVDs can be delivered and picked up for residents who need help accessing the library.
Who is eligible?
Red Bank residents with a library card who cannot visit the library, either temporarily or permanently, qualify for this service. Uncertain about your eligibility? Just ask us! Don’t have your library card? Don’t worry; we’ll make one for you when you register for this service!
How do I select my items?
Patrons can place holds online through the Catalog, make specific requests with Library staff, or we can provide you with a selection based on interests and preferences.
How do I get library items delivered?
You’ll need to complete this application and get it to us (email or snail mail are fine!) or sign up below. After your application is reviewed, we’ll contact you!
What materials can be delivered?
Patrons can receive RBPL items and items from partner libraries. Eligible items include regular-print books, large-print books, audiobooks, DVDs, Cake Pans, and Launchpad Playaway Tablets.
When do deliveries take place?
Deliveries and pick-ups are approximately twice a month by Library staff. Before delivery, the Library will contact Homebound patrons to confirm details. In the event of bad weather or staffing issues, the Library reserves the right to cancel the delivery and pick up. All deliveries are made to the front door; staff cannot enter patrons’ homes.
Please note: Library Staff has the right to refuse to deliver items if they feel unsafe or uncomfortable when they arrive at a patron’s house.
Are there any fees?
This service is free of charge! Overdue items are exempt from late fees.
Lost and damaged items will incur replacement fees.
Patrons will become ineligible for the service if they do not return library materials.
Homebound Delivery Service program can be discontinued for any reason.
